Francis Joseph Underwood
At the beginning of the series - the head of democrats in the American congress, then vice-president and finally President of the United States. A 100% scum but very charismatic. His initials F.U. are a broad hint to Fuck You. Underwood is bisexual but it's never clear which sex he has for the sake of sex and which for political reasons. Probably, he doesn't have the former at all. By the way, the character of Underwood - or, rather, the analogous character from the British book, which was taken as the series' basis - is partially based on Richard III, the King of England during the Wars of the Roses, and his interpretation in the same-named Shakespeare's tragedy. He hates his deceased alcoholic father. When Frank was a kid, his dad asked him to shoot him. The Underwood's greatest regret is that he didn't it. Tell your friends about your result. Claire Hale Underwood
Frank's wife, the first lady of the U.S. A true partner and associate. She encourages the husband's passion for power and his disregard for morals. The latter - only to a degree. For example, she is not against her husband's cheating but it seems she doesn't know that he helped to kill a few people and a dog. Claire is in charge of a fund dealing with ecology and water issues. She and Frank are child-free. Tell your friends about your result. What role does wait for them?
Doug Stamper
An Underwood's ex-assistant. He was mutilated at the end of the 2nd season, that's why Underwood didn't need him in the 3rd season and because of that Doug suffered a lot. He is dependent on serving Underwood. He does all the dirty tasks and Frank is more like a master than an employer. Stamper has no life except for this one, and one of the important plotline conflicts comes from this. Tell your friends about your result. What role does wait for them?
Peter Russo
A member of The United States House of Representatives from the first district of Pennsylvania. He was also a gubernatorial candidate for Pennsylvania when Jim Matthews who became vice-president vacated the office. Peter is an alcoholic and drug addict; a weak person. Sometimes he has lucid moments when he sets big goals and tries to achieve them. One of the few characters of the show with moral principles, although sometimes he cannot bring them to life. He had to help Underwood in his illegal business but then he started to ask too many questions. Underwood got him drunk and shut in the car with the motor ignited.
