Chewbacca

Chewbacca is a protagonist in the original trilogy. He first appeared in "Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope" and returned for the rest of the trilogy. Chewbacca is the loyal friend and fisrt mate of Han Solo, and serves as co-pilot on Solo's spaceship. Standing at eight feet tall, Chewbacca is covered with long hair and wears only a bandolier. His weapon of choice is the Wookiee bowcaster.

C-3PO

C-3PO is a humanoid robot character. C-3PO was designed as a protocol droid intended to assist in etiquette, customs, and translation, boasting that he is "fluent in over six million forms of communication." In the majority of depictions, C-3PO's physical appearance is primarily a polished gold plating, although his appearance varies throughout the films. 

R2D2

R2-D2 stands for Second Generation Robotic Droid Series-2. A small astromech droid, R2-D2 is a major character and appears in nine out of the ten Star Wars films to date. Throughout the course of the films, R2 is a friend to C-3PO, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and other characters of the saga. 

Obi-Wan Kenobi

Obi-Wan Kenobi, also known as Ben Kenobi, is one of the major characters in the Star Wars franchise. He is a mentor to Luke Skywalker, to whom he introduces the ways of the Jedi. In the prequel trilogy, he is a master and friend to Anakin Skywalker. He is frequently featured as a main character in various other Star Wars media.

Luke Skywalker

Luke Skywalker is the main protagonist of the Star Wars trilogy. Luke's central dilemma is the ongoing war between good and evil, both externally and internally. Like most protagonists emerging from this storytelling formula, Luke is not raised by his biological parents.

Leia Organa

Princess Leia Organa was one of the Rebel Alliance’s greatest leaders, fearless on the battlefield and dedicated to ending the tyranny of the Empire. Daughter of Padmé Amidala and Anakin Skywalker, sister of Luke Skywalker, and with a soft spot for scoundrels, Leia ranks among the galaxy’s great heroes.

Yoda

Yoda was a legendary Jedi Master and stronger than most in his connection with the Force. Small in size but wise and powerful, he trained Jedi for over 800 years, playing integral roles in the Clone Wars, the instruction of Luke Skywalker, and unlocking the path to immortality.

Han Solo

Han Solo is a pilot from the planet Corellia. He was orphaned at an early age and taken by the pirate Garris Shrike to serve on his crew. He was treated cruelly, and served Shrike for many years before escaping while in his teens. Then Solo became a smuggler. During the course of the Star Wars narrative, Han becomes a chief figure in the Alliance and the love interest of Princess Leia.

Darth Vader

Once a heroic Jedi Knight, Darth Vader was seduced by the dark side of the Force, became a Sith Lord, and led the Empire’s eradication of the Jedi Order. He remained in service of the Emperor -- the evil Darth Sidious -- for decades, enforcing his Master’s will and seeking to crush the fledgling Rebel Alliance.
